We exist to reach students, to help them share in God's word, to care for one another and to offer their lives in service to Christ.

Monday
Monday was an awesome first day. We had a continuation of the story of Phoenix Dark. A detective is investigating him and heard two stories of how people encountered him. One story was how we has asleep in a burning building and when part of his group woke him up, he made all the fire disappear. The detective also heard a story about how he helped and healed an outcast women. We then had a bit of church time together as Saint Matthew, and then we got ready for recreation. The recreation teams are the “cops” and “robbers” this year. We all participated in two of the “big four” recreation activities today. The rec games included a human side version of hungry hippo, a gladiator game where you had a vest of dice velcroed on and a pool noodle and the object was to knock off other peoples dice before you lost yours. Another game was four way tug or war and the other was dark soccer. After that we went to lunch and then had free time. A lot of group had the opportunity to do high ropes today. The high ropes was stepping out of the comfort zone for some and others loved it. Others explored camp or went to the lake or pond for free time.
We then had dinner and a little bit more free time. Afterwards we went to chapel where we heard Daren speak about how not only is Jesus fully God, he is also fully human. Processing who Jesus is has lead to some great discussions in cabin devotion time.
It was definitely a great, full first day of camp!
