Fri Night

Friday was awesome and a great way to end our last full day. We started off with breakfast and chapel. We then divided out by churches around camp to spend some time with just our church here at camp. We (Saint Matthew) spent our time opening it up to anyone that wanted to share how Jesus impacted their life this week and/or a goal they have when they come home. It was awesome to hear how God has worked in so many of our students lives this week.
After that we went to rec. We all participated in the Meadow Ranch version of the “Amazing Race.” We had students in our team at all these different stations around camp where it basically became a relay race. We had everything from eating a “mystery food item” to diving in the pool for an object, to putting shaving cream on a teammates face and tossing Cheetos on it to get them to stick. Everyone seemed to have had a great time participating in it.
We then went to lunch and free time. Everyone tried to get the most out of their last day there. We had a lot go to the pond or lake for the last time. Others go to the stores to get clothing or snack purchases, others just hanging out with friends they had made there. We had a handful of students go on the rope course today since we couldn’t fit everyone that wanted to in on Wed.
After free time and dinner we had an evening recreation chapel where we found out the winners or this week’s recreation games. Éclair took 12th place, Beef Au Jus took 7th, Quiche took 4th, and Parfait took 3rd. It was a lot of fun filled with lots of energy and excitements as we got to know the team ranks and watch a video of recreation from each day.
Directly after that we had our normal chapel with worship and Ron speaking to us one last time. He challenged us a lot on how to take what we’ve learned here and actually have it stick with us when we head down the mountain. We then went outside to the outdoor chapel (victory circle) where we had a chance to hear from all the students there how Jesus has impacted their lives this week. It was a great and encouraging night and a great way to end the week at Hume.
